Market condition index · Current read
Measures the cost and availability of refinancing across the economy — mortgages, corporate debt, and high-yield credit. Rising RFPI signals that borrowers face tighter, more expensive refinancing conditions, which eventually hits earnings, housing, and credit quality. RFPI answers: "Is refinancing becoming dangerous?" When RFPI is elevated, companies with near-term maturities, mortgage-sensitive sectors, and leveraged borrowers face headwinds — even if broad credit spreads haven't moved yet. RFPI leads CRSI because refinancing pressure appears before defaults. The index is inverted: UP = refinancing pressure rising, DOWN = easy refinancing.
10.0 points below the 50-normal line. This locates the selected condition; it is not a forecast. From one official close publication; stale selected read.
Official closes earn richer presentation. The selected current read is never spliced into certified history.
One point is not a trend and is never connected to the current read.
Only exact governed relationships are navigable. Shared tickers and price moves never create a link.
No Basket, Narrative, or Asset context is inferred from inputs, tickers, price moves, or static “related” lists.
Declared weights explain construction. They do not claim today's contribution or causal impact.
